Wobbly Ceramics

A procedural design system that generates ceramic-inspired glazed sculptures, balancing control and unpredictability to embrace the kind of variation and surprises found in physical ceramic processes.

These are five short loops showcasing some of the results.
Brief: Recreate the visual richness and diversity of ceramic glazes while leveraging the infinite possibilities of shapes and forms in 3D.

Challenge: 3D is too perfect and controlled failing to capture the unpredictability and materiality of the ceramic processes. Traditional modelling restricts variation and is time consuming.

Outcome: A generative workflow enabling the creation of diverse 3D glazed sculptures. The system was intentionally designed to be guided but not fully controllable, allowing for surprising and organic results at scale.
